Workshop: Monument-Skin-Excavation
Inspired by the discovery of four bare, monumental pedestals within the environs of HKW, ‘Monument. Skin. Excavation’ seeks to probe and expose the local city/skin surface as a blank/monument, a body without symptoms. During the workshop, participants will construct simple devices for the overlay of electromagnetic, underground and skin surfaces to be activated during an experimental walk and dig through Tiergarten.
The workshop is held by Martin Howse. Howse is a programmer, theorist, performer and explorer of open hardware who founded the ap project in 1998 to implement a truly artistic operating system (OS) in its most expanded sense and within a free software context. For the last ten years he has collaborated on numerous open-laboratory style projects and performed, lectured and exhibited worldwide.
As places are limited, please register by contacting Martin Howse m [at] 1010.co.uk. The participation is free.
